Testing has a busywork problem. UiPath Delegate is here to fix it.

Summarize:

Any tester will recognize the stretch after a regression run finishes and the failures are loaded. You check whether the build completed, confirm the deployment, open the run, verify the context, and save the IDs and links you know someone will ask for. Then you dig through failed tests, logs, screenshots, previous runs, environment notes, automation behavior, and Jira tickets. A few failures turn out to be real defects. Others are noise or environment issues, and each one still needs attention.

By the time triage is done, there's more ahead: documenting, updating tickets, capturing evidence, escalating blockers, summarizing delivery risk, and sending the update everyone has been waiting for.

Very little of this is the craft of testing. It's the work that surrounds it, and it shows up everywhere.

The work around the work

Testing is about finding problems before customers do: challenging software, surfacing risk, and giving teams the confidence to ship. But too often, testers are pulled away from that work by the operational machinery around it.

The status checks, the handoffs, the reruns, the ticket updates, the “can you send me the link?” messages. This drag is compounding. AI-powered development is producing more code and more change, and testing teams are expected to keep pace.

But you cannot scale quality by piling more operational work onto the people responsible for it. The answer is handing off the work that should not require a human every single time.

That is the work UiPath Delegate is designed to take on.

Meet UiPath Delegate

See Delegate in action

UiPath Delegate is the productivity agent built for the enterprise. It acts on the user's behalf and completes administrative and role-specific tasks, including the operational work around software testing. It works across the tools that testing teams already use, from test management systems and Jira to CI/CD pipelines, desktop apps, APIs, collaboration tools, and enterprise environments.

Delegate doesn't only suggest what to do next, it executes the task end to end, including moving data across systems, following established routines, and reporting back when the work is done.

Delegate handles the busywork, while you keep the judgment calls and own the strategy.

From assistant to action

There is a real difference between help and handoff. Help points you in the right direction; handoff takes a repeatable workflow off your plate.

Delegate is built for handoff. It can learn from tester actions and recorded sessions, turn successful workflows into reusable routines, and run those routines on demand, on a schedule, or based on defined triggers. It can check in when an action is sensitive and run in the background when the task is routine.

This fits directly into how UiPath sees the future of testing: agentic AI working alongside testers across the entire lifecycle. UiPath Test Cloud is built around that vision, with agentic capabilities spanning web, mobile, desktop, API, and enterprise applications.

Delegate brings that vision into testers' day-to-day work: not just what happens inside the platform, but what happens every morning, every test run, every incident.

What this looks like in real life

Let’s look at the morning regression run.

Rather than manually collecting context, Delegate can be used to check build notifications, confirm deployment status, open the run, and organize the links and IDs you will need.

Instead of combing through every failure individually, it can help compare logs against previous runs, flag repeated failures, surface new ones, and prepare a triage summary for review.

For defects, it can help check whether a Jira issue exists, update or create the right ticket, attach evidence, and link the result.

At the end, instead of spending another hour on reporting, Delegate can prepare the execution summary: what failed, what was rerun, what the delivery risk looks like, and what needs follow-up.

The tester still decides what matters. Delegate handles more of the motion.

The future of testing is not more busywork

Agentic testing (AI that helps design, execute, adapt, and refine tests across complex environments), is changing what testing teams can expect from automation.

But that future cannot only be about running tests faster. If testers still spend hours after every run collecting evidence, updating tickets, and writing summaries, the bottleneck has not been solved. It has just moved.

Delegate tackles that bottleneck directly, giving testing teams a way to hand off repetitive work across tools, keep humans in control of the decisions that matter, and reclaim time for the work that actually improves quality.

Want to see how? Join us for a first look at UiPath Delegate for agentic testing on October 6, 2026.

In this webinar, UiPath and TestingXperts will explore how Delegate helps testing teams move from AI-generated advice to delegated execution—handling repetitive workflows across tools, apps, and platforms while testers remain in control of review, judgment, and quality decisions.
