  • Application performance testing measures how an application behaves under load. It answers whether the application stays responsive, stable, and accurate as concurrent user demand changes. Modern application performance testing covers spike testing (sudden traffic surges), stress testing (load beyond expected demand), and endurance testing (sustained high load), and runs as a continuous quality gate in the delivery pipeline. UiPath Test Cloud handles all three test types using the user interface (UI) automations a team already maintains, with no separate load testing software required.

  • Dedicated load testing software, such as Apache JMeter, k6, or LoadRunner, requires a separate set of performance scripts, a separate scripting model, and a separate set of skills to maintain alongside functional tests. UiPath Test Cloud takes a different architectural approach: the same UI automations a team writes for functional testing become performance scenarios. There is no parallel test suite to maintain and no protocol-level scripting expertise required.

  • Spike testing validates how the application responds to sudden, short-duration surges in traffic, such as a product launch or a public announcement. Stress testing finds the load ceiling by pushing the application past expected demand until it fails, then measures recovery. Endurance testing runs the application under sustained load for hours or days to surface memory leaks, connection pool exhaustion, and resource degradation. Test Cloud runs all three from the same UI automations.

Performance scenarios are pipeline-triggered, run in parallel, and report results back into the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) toolchain.
