Tell us a bit about your career journey so far. How did you get to where you are today? 😊
I have over 30 years of business experience. I graduate as Nuclear engineer just when Chernobyl burnt out so, I decided to start a career in sales. I took all the steps, experiencing different sales roles in tech companies, until I became the EMEA Vice President of a large Global Organization. In 2008 I decided it was time for a change, so I moved into a consultancy role. In 2015 I joined an Oil & Gas company, where I remained until deciding to join UiPath in 2019. I believe that with passion and willingness to learn you can really embrace a lot of growth opportunities, in many different industries.
What was one of the most important turning points of your career? What did you learn from that experience?
In 2008 I decided to move from a solid organization to a new adventure just before the crisis hit us. This for me was a great learning opportunity. It helped me see how willingness to succeed and humility to learn and embrace new roads can bring you where you want to be.
There are two things that I learned that now come to my mind. I learned that career progression comes with results and can be influenced by your network. Don’t ever just ask for a promotion, without having the results to support you. Secondly, never give up, even in difficult times.
What made you choose UiPath out of all the other tech companies out there?
UiPath came to me by chance. At the beginning I didn't know anything about the company. I did my research and easily understood the potential and the value of the business proposition, all supported by the massive investments done by investors. It seemed to be the right company to be with. So, I decided to join. And after 18 months I still believe this was the right choice for me.
How would you describe your team? Think of people, projects, mission, anything that somebody looking to join your team should know.
We are a small team. We have 3 key drivers. First, all of us have a customer first mentality. Second, all have a willingness to be part of a team with common goals and attitude and third, we all enjoy what we do as much as we can. Our results are consequences of our obsession for serving our customers in the best way possible.
What's important for you when choosing a new employee? What would you advise candidates who want to interview for a job in your team?
Again, there are 3 drivers: Alignment to company values – being humble, bold, fast and immersed. Their attitude. And their competencies.
In terms of suggestions, well, it is always challenging to advise someone but here it goes: be yourself, do not oversell, use examples to support what you are saying, come prepared for the interview and be ready to be a team player.
Anything else you’d like to share?
All companies have pros and cons. The best choice for any person that is willing to embrace a new challenge is to join the company with more pros than cons. Once there, be ready to see the few cons as an opportunity to create more pros.
We hope this made you a bit more curious, as we look forward to meeting you! You can check the available roles in our teams here – we hope you’ll find something interesting 😊
