On the heels of our State of the Developer Survey launch last week, we have another exciting announcement to share with you.
In any other year, we’d be meeting developers in cities around the world. We’d be exchanging ideas at meetups, grabbing a bite together after a client meeting, or hosting you at our main developer conference in Bengaluru, India.
This year? This year’s been a little different. We realized we weren’t going to be able to do any of those things. So we came up with a different plan—one that we’re hoping might turn out even better in some ways.
Today, we’re excited to announce UiPath DevCon, our first fully virtual global conference for Robotic Process Automation (RPA) developers. Created by developers, for developers, and hosted by UiPath (India and APAC) Chief Evangelist Tejus Venkatesh, this online event will take place September 2-3, 2020.
Here’s a quick preview of what you can expect.
Hear directly from UiPath leaders—CEO Daniel Dines, EVP of Products and Engineering Ted Kummert, and Chief Product Officer Param Kahlon—as they share exciting company updates and reveal a sneak peek into the product roadmap.
Sixteen technical sessions
Learn how to build alongside RPA developers in advanced technical sessions. We’ve handpicked experts from within UiPath and from our developer community to share best practices and real use cases. Discover how to build custom activities with the UiPath Activity Creator, see an end-to-end demo of UiPath AI Fabric, and more. Jump into the discussion, tell us what you really think, and ask questions in real-time with live chat and interactive polls.
And there’s a hackathon
It’s not all about watching people talk and show you stuff from their screens. We’re also inviting developers to showcase your innovation during a pre-conference hackathon. In teams of up to four, devs will build an end-to-end solution using three or more UiPath products that solves a real business case and demonstrates true hyperautomation. Did we mention? We’re awarding thousands of dollars in prizes to the selected winners. Stay tuned for more.
When to watch
UiPath DevCon will take place mid-day in the European Union (EU), beginning at 11:30 a.m. BST—that’s 4:00 p.m. IST and 6:30 a.m. ET. We know—the timing isn’t ideal for everyone. (It never is.) But we polled our community and scheduled this based on where most developers were located and when you preferred to join in.
The good news is: You’ll be able to watch it live—or catch up on your own time. If it’s difficult to catch the live show in your time zone or you’re just unavailable for certain parts of the conference, worry not. We’ll upload the recorded sessions within the hour so you can watch the replay on your own time.
With the conference being fully online, the reality is that there are some things we won’t be able to do, like party with a live band or take selfies with Daniel. But—for the first time, we’re able to make the event accessible to developers globally. And we’re pretty excited about that.
So if you’d like to join us, sign up for DevCon below. And yes, it’s free. We can’t wait to see you there.
