Developer Track Update  

Our flagship certification track, the Developer – Automation Track, has undergone a renewal with the introduction of two new certifications: 

• UiPath Certified Professional Automation Developer Associate  

• UiPath Certified Professional Automation Developer Professional  

These two certifications are new and refreshed version of RPA Associate and Advanced RPA Developer certifications. 

As of October 13, 2023, RPA Associate and Advanced RPA Developer certifications are no longer available for new candidates to acquire. However, RPA Associate and Advanced RPA Developer certifications obtained before this date will remain valid for three (3) years from October 13, 2023. Current RPA Associate and Advanced RPA Developer certification holders are encouraged to maintain their certification status by taking the latest exam during this period.

In conjunction with these changes, the qualifying exams for these certifications have been updated from 2021.10 to 2022.10 product version, as of October 13, 2023. The exam contents are also aligned with modern design experience.

Please note that the last date for availability of the current versions of the Advanced RPA Developer and RPA Associate exams, which align with the product version 2021.10 and classic design experience, is October 12, 2023.

Introducing a brand-new Specialized AI Professional Certification 

Additionally, we are introducing a brand-new Specialized AI Professional Certification as a new specialty under the Developer track. To qualify to become a Specialized AI Professional, aspiring candidates must have achieved at least Associate level certification in the Developer – Automation track. The addition of Specialized AI Professional role represents a strategic enhancement to our current certification portfolio, aimed at cultivating a workforce capable of combining the power of RPA with AI.

3-year validity period 

Starting from October 13, 2023, all UiPath Certified Professional Certifications have a 3-year valid period. In the ever-changing landscape of automation, the demand for proficient professionals is constant. To remain at the cutting edge, it is essential to keep your knowledge and skills up to date. With the introduction of a 3-year validity period, we foster a culture of continuous learning, encouraging you to refresh your skills and stay relevant throughout your career trajectory. This approach empowers you to be competitive and adaptable in the face of evolving automation trends. 

Professional (Formerly Advanced) level exam price adjustment 

The newly introduced Automation Developer Professional Exam is priced at 300 USD, the same as the other professional level exam, the Automation Business Analyst Professional. We understand that this is an adjustment from its predecessor. The reason for that is the cost to maintain and re-invest into the program has been rising in the past few years since the program launch. We want to assure you that this adjustment is necessary to continue providing the high-quality certification experience and resources that you expect from UiPath. 

The Associate level certification exam fee will remain the same, providing a relatively affordable entry point for the aspiring/new Automation Developers. 

Unused, valid vouchers for the retired exams

We will honor unused, valid vouchers for RPA Associate Exam and Advanced RPA Developer Exam.    

• A voucher for Advanced RPA Developer that covers 100% of the exam fee can be used to pay for 100% exam fee for the Automation Developer Professional Exam.  If you have a voucher that fully covers the cost of the Advanced RPA Developer certification, you can use it to take the Automation Developer Professional Exam without any additional payment.

• If you have an Advanced RPA Developer Exam voucher that pays 50% of the Exam Fee, this voucher covers 50% of the Automation Developer Professional Exam fee.

• The policy for any unused RPA Associate vouchers is the same, however, they apply to the Automation Developer Associate Exam.

Renaming of Automation Business Analyst Certification  

The Automation Business Analyst will be renamed to Automation Business Analyst Professional to align with the updated program framework. For the existing credential holders, your credential remains active and there is no action required; However, please be aware that wherever you have shared your digital badge, the badge image will continue to display the older name. Additionally, the qualifying exam is also renamed to UiPath Automation Business Analyst Professional Exam. Existing appointments for the Automation Business Analyst Exam are not affected and any exam vouchers previously purchased remain valid. 

Starting from October 13, 2023, all UiPath Certified Professional Certifications hold a validity period of 3 years, calculate from the date of credential achievement.

The RPA Associate and Advanced RPA Developer Certifications have refreshed and relaunched as the revitalized Automation Developer Associate and Automation Developer Professional. UiPath continues to recognize the significance of the RPA Associate and Advanced RPA Developer Certifications until October of 2026. After this date, UiPath deems RPA Associate and Advanced RPA Developer Certifications to be antiquated and their credentials cease to validate.

All UiPath Certified Professionals are expected to maintain their competitive edge by getting recertified every three years to keep pace with the technology updates.

For the Automation Developer Track, the two (2) exams imply a different level of skills and knowledge and for the time being it is not mandatory to take them in any order, although it is recommended to take the Associate level exam first.

We will be continuously aligning certification exams to newer product releases of the UiPath platform. We plan to introduce the next versions of the exams when UiPath introduces major updates or disruptive technologies.

The UiPath Certified Professional exams are designed to include the following question types:

Multiple Choice

• Straight-forward questions and straight-forward questions with graphics

• Scenario-based questions

  • Excellent way to promote higher-level thinking

  • Scenarios with graphics to make the question realistic when assessing skills

• Graphics as answer choices

• Code as answer choices

Drag and Drop

• Designed to test a candidate’s understanding of a particular “process”

• Involves logical thinking and reasoning by the candidate

Simulation-Based

• Media: Video, Flash

• Active Screens: Allows interaction and automatic scoring with different display elements

  • Emulate a user’s interaction with UiPath Studio and/or Orchestrator displays

  • Fully integrated with other question types

  • No need to exit the testing event

An exam participant may receive several or all question types.

Note: There is no lab-based exam or project submission involved with either certification exam.

Practice tests are available online and are free. The topics and questions in the practice tests are aligned to the proctored certification exams. Please note that unlike the proctored exams, practice tests have static questions. This means that you will receive the same questions every time you take a practice test. In addition, you will receive a score report after the practice test that will reflect topics you need to prepare further.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Repeatedly taking a practice test until you achieve a high score does not ensure that you will achieve a high score on the certification exam.

The UiPath Certified Professional Certification Exams can also be taken in the comfort of your own house.

You can take UiPath Certification Exams online through OnVUE - which allows you to conveniently take exams at home or in the office, while being monitored by an offsite proctor. All communication with the proctor is done in English. A Japanese-speaking proctoring is available for Japanese speakers.

Exams are offered in secure proctored environments at Pearson VUE Test Centers throughout the world and as remotely proctored exams at your private location via OnVUE.

University/college students and professors in the UiPath Academic Alliance program are eligible for a 50% discount on the exam fee. Please ask your professor or educator to contact the Academic Alliance program manager(s) for the discount vouchers.

Please note that once issued, student vouchers are valid for 3 months. There is no extension policy, so please try to use them within the timeframe or else they will expire.

Effective April 1, 2020, our new certification exams have been approved for reimbursement of test fees for veterans and other eligible persons (in accordance with the provisions of 38 USC 3689) by the New York State Division of Veterans’ Services. Visit the VA website for further details.

Vouchers are pre-paid exam fees. If your team or organization is planning to certify a number of professionals, you may want to buy vouchers in-bulk and distribute. If you are planning to certify 100 or more professionals, please email the UiPath Certified Professional program office at ucp.operations@uipath.com for a special bulk discount.

Sometimes it may be convenient for you to buy a voucher for scheduling an exam (for example, in countries where you may have difficulty in making a US$ payment at a local test center). Vouchers can be purchased from the UiPath Marketplace. Depending on your location, the vouchers may be subject to local taxes. For more information, please visit Pearson VUE Tax FAQs.

Please note that once issued, the vouchers are valid for 12 months. There is no extension policy, so please try to use them within the timeframe, or else they will expire.

If you experience some issues with UiPath Marketplace (pearsonvue.com), it may be a browser cookie issue. Deleting the affected cookie, or using a private/incognito browser, should resolve this (though deleting the cookie would be preferred as it should fix it permanently).

If you can identify the cookies for this site specifically without browser settings, delete all of those. Alternatively, deleting the entire cookie history for the browser will work as well.

If you make multiple purchases using the same card in a short period of time, it may alarm Pearson VUE's fraud prevention system. If you are an organization who needs to purchase multiple vouchers for employees using the same card, it is recommended to consolidate them into one single purchase to avoid triggering their fraud prevention rules.

Our certification exam vouchers are sold by Pearson VUE. Please contact uipathstorehelp@pearson.com for any issues that are not remediated by the workaround described above. They should respond to all email requests within 1-2 business days.

UiPath is committed to providing access to all individuals with disabilities. Depending on your geographic region, test accommodations may also be known as “special arrangements” or “reasonable adjustments." A request for special testing accommodation may be submitted through https://www.uipath.com/company/contact-us/contact-learning. A decision to grant accommodation and specific accommodation details will be made on a case-by-case basis. All information will remain private based on the UiPath Privacy Policy.

If by taking notes, you are referring to information that you can take with you after you finish the exam, then the answer is no. It is not allowed to make notes of any kind if in a secure area of a test center except on the writing materials that may be provided at the test center for this purpose. The same applies if you are taking your exam through the remote option, OnVUE.

You are allowed to make comments that will act as feedback notes inside the exam display screens, as you go through the exam questions. These comments will reach UiPath and will be reviewed by our exam team.

When it comes to exam results, it is against our security policy to disclose the correct answers or the correct sequences, but we can assure you that all the exam questions are fully supported by the information found in our recommended training documents.

In order to better prepare for your next attempt, It is recommended to take note of all the information given inside the score report, which was sent to you via email after the exam. You may also find it in your Pearson VUE account, under View Score Reports.

Total number of correct answers/Total number of questions * 100.

In your case you scored 65% of the questions correct from the total questions that were presented in the exam. Your pass/fail score has no correlation to how you performed in each section. The section level percentages are included in the report to help you prepare and focus on the sections (subjects) where you scored below 70% before you take the exam again.

We follow the strict Privacy Policy from UiPath for contacting you or sharing your information. When you accept the Candidate Agreement, you are allowing us to share your certification information with your employer.

It is not uncommon for your employer to require you to get Certified as part of a business initiative/requirement. In such cases, they need to know the Certification status of their employees. We will provide names of Certified employees if formally asked by your employer. We do not share information when a candidate fails the exams with anyone. However, we may inform the employer if a candidate is confirmed to have  committed any type of exam fraud.

Additionally, we encourage you to join the UiPath Spotlight Directory, a searchable hub of individuals with UiPath credentials and experience. It is a great place to showcase your achievements and be found by potential employers.

If you do not pass the exam on the first attempt, you need to wait for two weeks before you can take it again. For all subsequent attempts, you need to wait for one month between each attempt. Please note, a candidate is required to pay the applicable exam fees for each attempt.

If you want to cancel or reschedule an exam, you must contact Pearson VUE or access your online Pearson VUE account to cancel your exam at least a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment. To cancel or reschedule an exam less than 48 hours is subject to a same-day forfeit of the exam fee. Exam fees are due for no-shows.

If you choose to take an exam at a Pearson VUE Test Center, please take into consideration the following: 

• Exam candidates are required to provide one form of identification at the testing center, a valid photo identification such as a driver’s license or a valid passport. The form must display the candidate’s signature. Pearson VUE will ask you to supply a digital signature and sit for a photo.

• Candidates should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled exam time. Candidates arriving more than 15 minutes late are not guaranteed exam availability or a refund.

• To maintain the security of the test environment, candidates are not permitted to bring reference materials of any kind into the testing center. In addition, note paper, pens/pencils and/or calculators are not permitted. Also, UiPath exams do not allow for any breaks once the exam begins.

OnVUE online proctored exams allow you to conveniently take an exam in the comfort of your home or office while being monitored by an offsite proctor. All communication with the proctor is done in English. Japanese-speakers have an option of a Japanese-speaking proctor.

If you choose to take an exam online through OnVUE, please take into consideration the following:

• Exam candidates are required to provide two forms of identification; including one photo identification such as a driver’s license or a valid passport. Both forms must display the candidate’s signature.

• Candidates should plan to login 15 minutes prior to their scheduled exam time. Candidates who have logged in more than 15 minutes late are not guaranteed exam availability or a refund.

• To maintain the security of the OnVUE test environment, candidates are not permitted to use reference materials of any kind. In addition, note paper, pens/pencils and/or calculators are not permitted. Also, UiPath exams do not allow for any breaks once the online Greeting process and the exam begins.

Exams are available in most countries around the world, except the following:

• Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic (Syria) (OFAC sanctioned countries by the U.S. government)

• Slovenia (due to data privacy restrictions)

• China (no OnVUE option due to limited internet and connectivity); VUE Test Centers only

Exam fraud includes any action or attempt by an individual or group of individuals to influence the testing process and exam score through cheating. Any individual discovered to be engaging in these activities, whether willingly or not, is subject to corrective action.

UiPath identifies the following activities as exam fraud:

• Falsifying your identity or impersonating another individual

• Cheating, colluding or collusion, and/or copying exam questions

• Seeking, obtaining, and/or using any materials or information containing actual exam questions or protected exam materials in forums or social networking sites

• Reproducing, using, and/or disclosing any exam or test content in any form (digital, print, verbal) to anyone before, during, or after the testing event

• Soliciting or allowing another person to take an exam on your behalf

• Retaking an exam in violation of the UiPath Certified Professional Exam Retake Policy.

• Disclosing and/or distributing protected exam material. This includes sharing exam questions with other exam test-takers, colleagues, your study group, etc.

• Giving or receiving unauthorized assistance when taking an exam

• Possessing, referring to, or otherwise using any materials or equipment including, but not limited to, cellular phones, hand-held computers, laptop computers, tablets, electronic devices, removable drives, cameras, any recording devices or any writing materials while taking an exam

• Expanding on companies selling exams and/or practice tests

• Making notes of any kind if in a secure area of a test center except on the writing materials that may be provided at the test center for this purpose

• Altering the exam score and/or score report

• Offering to sell, publish, display, distribute, disclose, or reproduce any part of any exam or test content, by any means including, but not limited to, web postings, formal or informal preparation or discussion groups including communities of practice, chat rooms, reconstruction through memorization, study guides, or by any other method or in any materials

• Creating derivative works from any part of any exam or test content or materials

• Engaging in any conduct that is intended to, or results in, assisting or providing an unfair advantage to others

UiPath may, at its sole discretion, revoke any and all certifications you may have earned and ban you, permanently or for designated periods, from earning future certifications under any of the following circumstances:

• If you breach any of the terms and conditions of the Candidate Agreement and/or the Exam Security Policy.

• If UiPath determines, in its sole discretion, that you have undertaken or participated in any action that compromises the integrity and confidentiality of an examination or the UiPath Certified Professional program.

• If you are determined to have committed exam fraud as defined in the Exam Security Policy.
